The Plaza Cataluña is an excellent place for people watching or hanging out. There are stands in the plaza where you can buy seeds, and you can play with the Plaza Cataluña pigeons (if you want). It’s a popular place to take pictures. Also a well-known meeting spot, the Plaza Cataluña is always teeming with life and movement. You have the Ramblas and the posh Passeig de Gracia Street that converge on the Plaza. That means that you have a great mix of energies and sightseeing possibilities. It has many fountains and some interesting statues. In the wintertime, the city normally constructs a public ice skating rink.
